Well technically, this is still considered a soup diet, albeit with all the ingredients served separately! I’m truly a sucker for steamboat and it’s a wonderful way to warm up on one of the coldest nights we’ve had all year. It’s guilt free (excluding the fatty pork) and oh so tasty. This time we didn’t OD over the various ingredients like we normally do and kept it simple and minimal. Oh yeah, this was one soupy meal that certainly filled me up!! The meats served with my mums chicken rice chilli (mixed with soy sauce) and shabu shabu sauce is truuuuly heaven…. With a spicy sichuan broth on one side, and satay on the other, it was perfect.
Now if only I hadn’t eaten so much….. damn buffets….
